Most enterprise & SaaS companies charge you a flat fee per user, no matter how much each user is using your system. We believe you should only have to pay for users that are actively using Ink.Works, so we offer Fair Pricing.
(similar to forward-thinking companies like Slack)
When you subscribe to a paid plan, we check your usage for daily active users. At the end of each day (Central Time), we assess the number of users that have actually been active, and adjust your bill up (or, more importantly, down) accordingly.
Sometimes it easier to understand with some realistic examples, so here goes...
Other SaaS Services
Let's say you sign up for a paid account with 10 active users, at the monthly price of $7.99 per user.
Most systems would charge you for all users each month, regardless of whether or not each of those users actually logged in.
For example, if only 3 of your users logged in, you'd still be charged (10) x ($7.99) = $79.90.
Other services charge you a flat fee, like $99 per mo, plus additional fees for more users or storage.
Ink.Works
With our Fair Pricing Policy, you would be charged the daily prorated rate multiplied by the number of active users for that day.
This would result in a daily prorated rate of $0.16 per user, per day.
We would then take the prorated rate and multiply it by the number of active users (3), and again by the number of days in the month (30).
So instead of a flat $79.90, you would only pay ($0.16) x (3) x (30) = $14.40 for the month. 🎉
😀 😀 We believe this type of pricing is far more fair to our customers than a flat rate billing structure.
Each day, we poll your account for active user changes. If your active user count changes, we will immediately notify you of the change via email, and adjust your bill accordingly.
👍 👍 You will be able to see all active user changes on each month's billing statement.
A user becomes inactive after 14 days of inactivity in the system. We never charge for inactive users. Once a user logs in and uses the system again, become active.
Sure, but we don't recommend it. Some of the most valuable features of Ink.Works, like Team Messaging, are impossible on a shared single user account.
